Driving Energy Efficiency
At NewFlex, improving energy efficiency remains central to reducing both costs and carbon emissions. During FY2025/26, the business relaunched its Unplugged campaign, optimised building controls, adjusted heating settings, and enhanced energy monitoring across sites. In parallel, NewFlex’s Head of Procurement conducted site visits to identify further energy-saving opportunities. These initiatives delivered measurable reductions in energy consumption and helped identify further opportunities to support NewFlex’s long-term carbon reduction and Net Zero ambitions.
Building a Greener Future
Eight of our twelve NewFlex office locations currently perform better than the CIBSE Good Practice energy benchmark, demonstrating positive progress in improving the efficiency of our flexible workspace portfolio. The remaining four sites consume more energy than the benchmark and therefore represent key opportunities for improvement. For a business committed to achieving Net Zero, reducing energy consumption across all locations is critical, as energy use is one of our most significant sources of operational carbon emissions. We will continue to target all sites but particularly underperforming sites through energy efficiency improvements, smarter building controls, and investment in low-carbon technologies to support our Net Zero Commitment.
